The Honourable Justice Mary Finn was admitted to the Queensland Bar in 1969, following the completion of a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Queensland. Soon after, Justice Finn commenced private legal practice in the UK and, later Queensland until 1976. In 1980, Justice Finn accepted a position with the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department, and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the ACT in 1983. In 1990 , Justice Finn was appointed to the Family Court of Australia, and three years later, appointed as a Member of the Appeal Division of the Family Court. Justice Finn has served as a member of both the Family Law Council and the Films Board Review during her career.
