The Honourable Justice Roslyn Atkinson graduated with First Class Honours in Law from the University of Queensland in 1985. Prior to this time, Justice Atkinson had already completed a Bachelor of Education Studies and Bachelor of Arts Degree, both from the University of Queensland. While employed as a lecturer in literature, drama, film and Australian Studies at the Queensland Institute of Tafe, Justice Atkinson completed her law studies. She then commenced work as an articled clerk at Feez Ruthning, after which she was appointed Associate to Sir Gerard Brennan, then Justice of the High Court. Justice Atkinson was admitted to the bar in 1987, during which time she became the first member, then the first President of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Tribunal. In September of 1998, Justice Atkinson was appointed to the Supreme Court of Queensland.
