Commonwealth Games

In January 1977, Sir Edward became the chairman of the XII Commonwealth Games Committee, which organised the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games. Sir Edward and the Committee embarked on a five year period of building, organisation and diplomacy to ensure the success of the Games.
