An Articled Clerk |
|
On 18 February 1940, Edward Stratten Williams began his articles of clerkship with the Cairns law firm, J. F. Fitzgerald and Walsh. Mr James Fitzgerald had often acted as the Williams family’s solicitor and this close relationship secured a clerkship for Edward. |

Examination Results |
These exam results are remarkable considering Edward served out the three years of his articles whilst an active member of the 2/14th Light Horse Regiment. However, great events were afoot, and Edward’s time with Fitzgerald and Walsh was inevitably interrupted by the Second World War. |
