Professional rivalries were often vented outside of the courtroom, albeit in a more relaxed and informal setting – the sports field. Tennis teams representing the Bar Association and the Queensland Law Society regularly exchanged courtroom attire for sweats and tennis shoes, hitting the court to compete for the annual Sir Douglas Wadley Trophy.
