In 1968, the year he graduated from university, Bob was admitted to the bar. In 1982, he was appointed as Queen’s Counsel in Queensland.

Bob worked as an advocate in both state & federal jurisdictions, and the planning & environment and industrial jurisdictions. He enjoyed a varied practice, appearing in common law cases, commercial disputes, equity and administrative law.

As a barrister, Bob Douglas QC was guided by his freedom to enjoy and love life, not the accumulation of billing hours.
